India, with its extensive 7,500 km coastline along the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean, including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep, is a significant hotspot for sea turtles. Five of the world’s seven sea turtle species are found in Indian waters, where they nest, forage, or migrate. These species face numerous threats but benefit from dedicated conservation efforts.
